I began twirling baton and dancing ballet when I was five years old. After winning many Maine Baton Twirling Championship titles, I went on to compete at regional competitions in New York City and Pennsylvania. When I started high school, I replaced baton twirling with colorguard, marching band, and winterguard. For my junior and senior year, I was given the opportunity to cultivate leadership skills while serving as colorguard captain. We performed at all of the LOLHS football games as well as many local and state competitions. Throughout high school, I studied ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, pointe, and lyrical dance at Grande Jete Dance School. I love dancing and I love colorguard because it allows me to express concepts that I cannot adequately communicate to others through words.
I also enjoy hitting the beach with a book by one of my favorite authors which include: Iain Banks, Jodi Piccoult, James Michener, Stephen King, and Nicholas Sparks. In addition, I enjoy exploring nature by hiking, kyaking, and mountain climbing.
