Nina De Sole helps us to understand "What is a Pipe Organ?" There is also an interesting article in Wikipedia. A more intensive study of the pipe organ can be found in James Cook's Illustrated Organ History. And for the curious and even not so young, there is the American Guild of Organists' A Young Person's Guide to the Pipe Organ.
