Domine Quis Habitabit a9’

Domine quis habitabit in tabernaculum tuo?                                                                           Lord who shall dwell in your tabernacle?

Aut quis requiescit in monte sancto tuo?                                                                                 Or who shall dwell on your holy hill?

Qui ingreditur sine macula, et operatur justitiam;                                                                  The one who walks without sin and executes righteousness;

Qui loquitur veritatem in corde suo.                                                                                        Who speaks truth in his own heart.

Non detrahit in lingua sua, nec facit proximo suo malum,                                                      Who does not slander with his tongue nor do evil to his neihbor,

Nec improbat proximum suum.                                                                                              Nor does he condemn his neighbour.

Contemptus is in oculis ejus malus;                                                                                        In his eyes the wicked man is despised;

Timentes autem Dominum glorificat:                                                                                     But those who fear the Lord he praises:

Qui jurat se affligere non mutabit.                                                                                          He swears an oath though to his disadvantage and will not alter.

Pecuniam suam no dedit ad usuram,                                                                                      He has not lent his money at interest,

Et munera super innocentem non accepit.                                                                              Nor accepted a bribe against the innocent.

Qui facit haec non movebitur in aeternam.                                                                             He who does these things shall never be moved.

Omni Tempore Benidic Deum a5’

Omni tempore benedic Deum, et pete ab eo ut vias tuas dirigat.                                            Bless God at all times, and seek from him that he direct your ways.

Et omni tempre consilia tua in ipso permanneant.                                                                  And let your counsels at all times rest in him.

Memor esto filii, quoniam pauperuem vitam gerimus.                                                              Be mindful of his Son, since we lead a life of poverty.

Habebis multa bona si timueris Deum.                                                                                    You shall have great possession if you will fear God.

Et omni tempre consilia tua in ipso permanneant.                                                                  And let your counsels at all times rest in him.

Ne Perdas Cum Implis’

Ne perdas cum impiis, Deus, animam meam, cum viris sanguinum vitam meam.                  Condemn not my soul, O God, with the evldoers, nor my life with the men of blood.

Redime me, Domine.                                                                                                              Redeem me, Lord.

Eripe me, domine, ab homine malo, a vero iniquo libera me.                                                 Deliver me, O Lord, from the wicked man; free me from the unjust man.

Redime me, Domine.                                                                                                              Redeem me, O Lord.

De Lamentatione Jeremiae Prophetae a5’

Heth:  Cogitavit Domins dissipare munum filiae Sion:                                                             Heth: The Lord has determined to ruin the wall of the daught of Sion:

Tetendit funiculum suum and non avertit manum suam a perditione.                                    He has stretched out his line and had not withheld his own hand from destruction.

Teth:  Defixe sunt in terra portae ejus:                                                                                   Teth: Her gates are sunk in the ground:

Perdidit et contrivit vectes ejus.                                                                                              He has broken down her bars and overthrown them:

Regem ejus and principem ejus in gentibus.                                                                          Her king and her princes are among the gentiles.

Joth:  Sederunt in terra, conticuerunt senes filiae Sion:                                                          Yodh: The elders of the daughters of Sion have sat upon the ground; they are silent:

Consperserunt cinere capita sua.                                                                                            They have scattered ash upon their heads.

Jerusalem, Jerusalem, convertere ad Dominum Deum tuum.                                                Jerusalem, Jerusalem, return to the Lord your God.

‘Propers for Lady Mass In Advent a5 - Rorate Caeli’

Rorate caeli desuper et nubes pluant justum:                                                                         You heavens drop down dew from above, and let the clouds rain righteousness:

Aperiatur terra et germinet salvatorem.                                                                                 Let the earth be opened and bring forth a saviour.

Benedixisti, Domine, terram tuam:                                                                                         You have blessed your earth, O Lord.

Avertisti captivitem Jacob.                                                                                                      You have turned away the captivity of Jacob.

Gloria patri et filio et spiritui sancto:                                                                                       Glory be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost:

sicut erat in principio, et nunc et semper: et in saecula saeculorum.  Amen.                          As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: world without end.  Amen.

Rorate caeli desuper et nubes pluant justum:                                                                         You heavens drop down dew from above, and let the clouds rain righteousness:

Aperiatur terra et germinet salvatorem.                                                                                 Let the earth be opened and bring forth a saviour.
