I help people think better, create better, and communicate better. My research and teaching interests -- as well as my work experience -- lie at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and communication, which are the subjects that I teach at Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College. The Heinz College houses eleven top-ranked graduate programs offered in our School of Information Systems Management and School of Public Policy & Management. I've been teaching here since 2003, but most of my background is "real-world." For many years I was Executive Creative Director of the Headquarters Office of Ketchum Advertising, then the 15th-largest advertising agency in the world. I've been Vice President of Global Marketing at Development Dimensions International, one of the world's largest training and assessment companies. And I've been a management consultant, a serial entrepreneur, a radio dj, a lumberjack, a skydiver, and a dad. This site will give you an idea of my thinking, teaching, and research. More important, the tools and information here can help you be a better strategist, innovator, and communicator. Because mostly what I want to do is help you to change the world. |
