I received my Ph.D. in mass communication with a concentration of advertising from Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) in 2006.
I joined the Department of Communication at Appalachian State University in 2007 as a tenure-track assistant professor of advertising. Currently I have been tenured associate professor of advertising for 3 years. I teach Foundations of Advertising, Media Planning and Communication Research Methods.
My academic research focuses on advertising/marketing via new media (Internet, social media, mobile media etc.) and media effects. My studies have been published in International Journal of Mobile Marketing, Chinese Journal of Communication, Journal of Targeting, Measurement and Analysis for Marketing, Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics, Journal of International Consumer Marketing, Journal of New Communications Research, Journal of Computer Information Systems, Journal of Consumer Satisfaction, Dissatisfaction & Complaining Behavior, Journal of Asia-Pacific Business, International journal of Internet Marketing and Advertising, International Journal of China Marketing, Journal of International Finance and Economics, International Journal of E-Business Research, and Psychology and Marketing.
I have been happily married for more than 6 years now.
