On June 6, 2015, I made the difficult decision to end the IndeedWrestling/Wrestlenomics Book project which I had launched on Kickstarter on April 2012.
During the project, I sent out some samples to backers. When I closed the project down, some backers requested that I make those materials available to everyone which is what I'm doing here.
I have failed. It's time to issue full refunds to everyone.
After more than three years, it's become abundantly clear that my jumble of ideas, spreadsheets and documents isn't progressing towards becoming a real book.
When I got funded, I was ecstatic. This is a feeling of euphoria as you refresh your phone and see donations coming in from around the world. I beat my goal by a lot - which surprised the hell out of me. Thank you.
However, after careful consideration, three years later, I realize that I am stuck.
I feel terrible anxiety that I haven't delivered what I promised and yet I already have people's money. That's just not right. I am sorry.
I have worked hard on this project. Still, I can admit that my dedication has been prone to fits & starts and many distractions. I am constantly refreshing data sources at this point and I feel that I'm just spinning my wheels.
I don't believe that I can deliver something that I would be proud of. I don't want to prolong this further.
This has been a humbling experience. I appreciate everyone's patience and apologize how this worked out.
As someone said a few months ago, "I guess pro-wrestling and Kickstarters don't work out, huh?".
I will be contacting each backers through the messaging system so I can begin issuing refunds. If you don't hear from me soon, please let me know. Or if you have any questions, comments or concerns, please let me know.
My email is email@example.com
Thank you. I know that's not the update people wanted to hear.
