Observations:
With 119 voters, it requires 60 first place votes for a majority.
x #1, Sgt Slaughter vs Iron Sheik (6/16/84 MSG), DOMINATED. It had 63 First Place votes right from the get-go.
x #2, Savage/Steamboat from WM3 started strong against Adonis/Murdoch/Briscoes and Backlund/Adonis at (36-26-14 in first place votes once Slaughter/Sheik is eliminated.) However, it got a lot closer. SECOND-TO-LAST BALLOT: (52-49-18). When the Backlund/Adonis match was removed, eleven votes went to Savage/Steamboat while seven votes went to Adonis/Murdoch/Briscoes. Savage/Steamboat won on the final ballot 63-56, a very close vote!
x #3, Adrian Adonis/Dick Murdoch vs Brisco Brothers (12/28/84 MSG), started strongly with 32 votes. Backlund/Adonis (1/18/82 MSG) was the clear opponent at 17 votes. By the time it was down to three choices, Hart/Perfect in WV had 22 votes, Backlund/Adonis had 27 votes and Adonis/Murdoch vs Brisco Brothers had 70 votes clinching the spot.
x Again, the #6 match in points climbs the ranks! (In all thre examples, the match ranked #6 by points broke into the top 5 under IRV evaluations).
Bob Backlund vs Adrian Adonis (1/18/82 MSG) jumped to #4 surpassing Bret Hart vs Mr Perfect (10/2/89 Wheeling WV) and Bret Hart vs Randy Savage (Seattle WA 11/11/87 aired SNME 11/28/87) which both had more points. (Though the WV match only had a margin of 3 points so they were essentially tied for the #5 spot in points.)
Backlund/Adonis started strong with 29 votes. (Hart/Savage and Hart/Perfect trailed with 11 & 10 respectively.) When it was down to a three-dog race, the 1982 match had 48 votes, the 1989 match (Bret/Perfect) had 37 votes and the 1987 match (Bret/Savage) had 34 votes. The Backlund/Adonis match only scrapped 15 votes away from the Bret/Savage proponents (the Bret/Perfect match won 19 more votes) but that was enough to clinch victory at 63-56 in favor of Backlund/Adonis.
Again, we see that people who prefer one wrestler's matches (i.e. Bret/Savage) are more likely to rank another match with the same wrestler (i.e. Bret/Perfect) ahead of two separate wrestlers (i.e. Backlund/Adonis).
x Both of the Ten Man Survivor Series matches end up right on top of one another in IRV rankings.
