^^^^^ GET THE ADD-ON HERE ^^^^^

Sort By Color is an add-on for Google Sheets. It takes your color-coded spreadsheet and sorts the data by either the color of the cell or the color of the font.

HOW IT WORKS
Color is not a sortable class in Google Sheets. Sort By Color takes the hex code of the cell or font color and uses that as text which can then be sorted.

HOW TO INSTALL
To install the add-on, click the link about or access the add-on store through Google Sheets by clicking "Add-ons" --> "Get add-ons".

HOW TO USE IT
Once installed sorting your data is quite simple. To sort your data by color do the following...

  1. Select a column containing colored cells or colored fonts.
  2. Click "Add-ons" --> "Sort By Color"
  3. Select the method you would like your spreadsheet sorted by clicking "Sort By Cell Color" or "Sort By Font Color"
NOTES
  • You MUST select a COLUMN. The add-on will not sort the sheet by ROW
  • You can sort just a selection of a column or the entire column.
  • The add-on assumes Row 1 is a Header Row and freezes it before sorting. You can unfreeze it after sorting if needed.
If you have any questions, issues, comments, or suggestions please complete the feedback form. Please rate the add-on in the Chrome Web Store and thank you for using Sort By Color.
