The website for Murton Community Choir

The choir meets every two  weeks usually at Bishopston Community Centre, Murton Green Road, typically with around 30 - 40 members.   See the Next Meetings page for current dates.

We are most grateful for the lead given over the years by Kate Davies and more about the ideas behind the Natural Voice approach we follow can be found on her website -

We are open to everyone, regardless of previous experience.  Singers come from a wide variety of backgrounds - some who have never sung before and others who are accomplished musicians.  Together we make a really confident sound.  It's great for people who are new to singing to have the support of more experienced singers and to be able to really sing from the top of their voices.

One distinctive feature of this group is that you do not have to make a commitment to come for a year, or a term, or even a session. You just wake up on Saturday morning and decide if you want to sing or not!  The reality is that most people who have joined us come as often as they are able to because they enjoy it so much but the group has been kept as a drop in because that is what it always has been and it works.

The songs come from a wide range of sources, including South African, Hawiian, Eastern European, British (of course including Welsh) and Northern American.  Some are taught in one session and others take a few sessions to learn but each session works both for those who are dropping in occasionally and for those who are there every time.

If you would like to come along please get in touch via the contact page.
