        What is Choices and Careers...

Choices and Careers is a required semester long course for all 8th grade students within MCPASD. The course is designed to help our students navigate throughout their future and create a solid game plan for the next steps within their lives. The course has an element of high school planning, study skills, college preparation, career exploration, and money management techniques. We are thrilled to be working in a district that focuses time and attention on the futures of our students and their success.

Currently C&C is offered opposite of Computer Literacy, which is a great bonus since many of our investigations have a computer element to them. One example of this is the e-portfolio which the students start in C&C and carry on throughout high school as a graduation requirement. Career Cruising is the database used for  the e-portfolio and many of our research projects as well. We encourage guardians to spend some time with their student exploring career cruising and everything it has to offer. It is a great conversation starter with teens about their future!

If you have any questions about C&C please feel free to email me at mswanson2@mcpasd.k12.wi.us. We are always looking for volunteers to participate in class and welcome all suggestions to keep the course relevant and challenging.
