Pasta with Fresh Herbs

Adapted from Joy of Cooking


One heaping cup of whole wheat bow tie pasta

One clove of garlic, minced

1/4 cup minced chives

little less than 1/4 cup minced basil

pinch of dried oregano

1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil

1/8 cup Parmesan cheese

salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.


Boil the pasta in salted water.

Meanwhile combine remaining ingredients in a bowl.

Drain pasta and reserve 1/8 cup of the cooking liquid.

Add the pasta to the herb mixture.

Add the reserved cooking liquid as deserved.  I used about half of the reserved liquid.
