Since 12 March 2025
Chixin Xiao (Senior Member, IEEE) received his Master’s degree in Computer Science from Xiangtan University, China, in 2004, and his first Ph.D. in Computer Application Technology from Central South University, China, in 2009. In August 2021, he earned his second Ph.D. in Power Engineering from the University of Wollongong, Australia. He has held academic positions at the University of Essex, U.K., the University of Newcastle, Australia, and Hong Kong Cyberport. Currently, he is a Professor of Computer Science at Xiangtan University, where he continues to work due to COVID-19-related constraints. His research interests focus on computational intelligence and its applications in power engineering, with an emphasis on smart grid resilience, power system planning and modelling, and modern optimization theory and its applications in Smart City initiatives.
