Feb. 21, 2015 Think Spring Garden Seminar, Chippewa Falls, WI Sponsored by Chippewa Valley MGA and Chippewa County UW-Extension from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Chippewa Middle School, 750 Tropicana Blvd, Chippewa Falls, WI. The keynote speaker is Don Engebretson, the Renegade Gardener, who will give the keynote on “Top 10 Gardening & Landscaping Blunders—and How to Avoid Them”. He will lead a session, “Embrace Your Shade: Plants & Design Tips for Shady Spaces”. Other speakers will be Michael and Kathi Rock, “Gardening for Hummingbirds”; Brian Smith, “Fruit trees for Backyard Spaces”; Todd Chwala, “Trees, Protecting a Growing Investment”, Mary Stewart, “Get Your Orchid Groove On”; and Faye Ryszkiewicz, “Grow Edibles without a Garden”. Two workshops are scheduled: Making Herbal Cordials and Growing Your Own Floral Designs. There will also be a coffee bar, vendors, door prizes, raffles, and lunch. $25 (additional costs for workshops); students $15. John Rosenow - Producing Organic Compost and Potting Soil - John is co-owner of Cowsmos, Inc. Cost is $8.00 if registration is before 2/27/15. At the door it is $10.00. Beverage and snack included.
