My friend Nate is a DJ (among other things - he's a man of many talents) and he DJs at Wesley's Downtown on Fridays and Saturdays. He spins some old-school hip-hop mixed with some newer offerings and mixes it really well with both analogue and digital equipment. I have no idea if this works or not, I stared at it for too long and lost perspective. Shot at ISO 1600 (which is way too noisy on the Rebel) f/1.4 since the corner he was in was practically pitch dark. The lights from the turntables was all that was lighting this scene. I was trying to capture some of the motion and complexity of his actions since he's so fluid when he's doing what he does. I think I'm going to try to reshoot this with the speedlite (which I had left at home, not knowing if anyone would be annoyed with me if I used it) set to 1/128th power just for a little light...
