Wayne C. Teng
Doctor Wayne C. Teng earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in civil engineering at the University of Illinois. He was the founder of Teng & Associates Inc., an engineering consulting firm focusing on bridges design, public works projects, and construction management. He is also the author of several widely used textbooks and manuals, such as "Foundation design". The new approaches of structural and architectural design he developed have been proven economic and aesthetically commendable. Teng's works can be seen in the "people mover" at O'hare International Airport and the Davis Street commuter station in Evanston, Il. Because of his exceptional contributions to the field of civil engineering, he was recognized with the College of Engineering Alumni Award for Distinguished Service in 1991. Teng died at the age of 78 in 1991 in Chicago, Illinois.
