Melvin L. Enger
Melvin Lorenius Enger was born on May 5, 1881. He earned his B.S. and C.E. from the University of Illinois. He was a professor of mechanical and hydraulic engineering from 1907-1926 at the University of Illinois. Later, he served as the head of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (1926-34) and then the Dean of the College of Engineering and Director of the Engineering Experiment Station (1934-49).
