COOKIES THE STORE - COOKER COMPARISON - COOK COUNTY ASSESOR.
cookie report 4: cmu co-op
At Chiang Mai University there's a student co-op store. It's got a huge selection of stuff, is run by students, and is cheaper than anywhere else. I'm not sure why you can't find the stuff in here elsewhere, especially the toiletries - maybe I just haven't been to another store that has a big selection of toiletries (not even supermarket grocery stores have as much stuff as this relatively tiny store). Also the best selection of pens and pencils and other office/school supplies. I didn't actually only buy stuff I haven't seen elsewhere, but, I'll be back for more and maybe I will do that then. Chocolate sticks: good, but not outstanding. What you expect by looking at it, except that it doesn't say in english that there is chocolate cream inside, so I didn't know that. Vanilla or custard cream would have been better, to contrast with the chocolate outside. The chocolate cookie outside was very good, fresh and nice tasting with good texture. These were made fresh locally, so that's to be expected. A little more expensive than most things, but worth it. Glico Natchel: Good biscuit flavor and texture. Inconsistent filling amount and lackluster taste. Would be excellent if more filling was in there, as the biscuit part was quite good and slightly buttery. Kind of an up-scale Jack n' Jill custard cream cookie, though it was only one baht more expensive - unfortunately, I will still prefer the Jack n' Jill version as the cream filling is better and more plentiful. Nice packaging - it gets points for that. Bourbon Petit 24 (I guess - not much in english): I wasn't expecting a whole lot from these, because the package is transparent so you can tell it's not quite like in the picture. These were overly expensive (though it is a large package) but I had to try. I have seen these in only a couple of places; they're obviously Japanese imports and I get the feeling they're not particularly popular. In any case, they're decent but not great; similar in taste to other cookies like this. I think I had something similar in a previous cookie report. Hard to recommend because they're so much more expensive than other products that have similar qualities. Dentyne Red Apple Mint gum - I had this last time but I don't really remember (I think maybe Doreen had them and I only had one piece) and I haven't had one yet. Oishi Green Tea - Original: good flavor; it's just sweetened green tea. Better than the Kirin brand, which is Japanese (Oishi is Thai despite the Japanese name)... I think it's whatever sweetener is used here is better tasting.cookies and candies
