I am a fourth year biomedical engineering PhD student at The University of Texas at Austin (UT), working in Dr. Joydeep Ghosh's Intelligent Data Analysis Exploration Lab (IDEAL). Before starting at UT, I obtained my B.S. in electrical engineering and computer science and my M.S. in electrical engineering from The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). During that time, I also worked as a database analysis/staff scientist in Dr. Alexander Pertsemlidis' lab at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

My research work focuses on developing and improving machine learning methods for problems in clinical informatics and computational biology. Current projects include applying approaches from recommender systems (e.g., collaborative filters) to predicting candidate genes for human diseases as well as developing models for predicting patient outcomes using data from large clinical data sets.
