Binbin Chen is a Senior Research Scientist at Advanced Digital Sciences Center (ADSC), a Singapore-based research center established by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with the core funding from Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). His research focuses on improving the design of complex interconnected systems (e.g., cyber-physical systems and IoT systems), so that such systems can become more efficient and more secure, yet still remain as simple as they can. Prior to joining ADSC, Binbin obtained his PhD from National University of Singapore (NUS) and Bachelor from Peking University, both in Computer Science. His research has received several awards, including the Best Paper Award in ACM SIGCOMM conference 2010.

Binbin is a Co-PI of two Research Projects, Security-Sustaining Mechanisms for Building Trustworthy and Resilient Internet of Things Systems and "Securing Last-Mile Communication Systems for Smart Grid". He is also a co-founder of Ampotech, a Singapore-based startup company that provides building energy monitoring and intelligence solutions.

Security-sustaining and fault-tolerant mechanisms for cyber-physical systems and other interconnected complex systems. Wireless networks. Internet of Things.
