Prabhu is currently working as Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) of Chemistry at PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research, Coimbatore, India. He worked as post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Physical-Chemistry, Universidad de Concepción (UdeC), Chile from June 2022 to April 2025. From April 2021 to May 2022, he worked as Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Erode Sengunthar Engineering College, Erode, India. From July 2019 to December 2020, he worked as a post-doctoral fellow in Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Malaysia. He received Ph.D. degree on July 2018 from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Trichy, India.
His post-doctoral research work at UdeC and UMP focused on the photoreforming of industrial wastewater in fluidized bed reactor irradiated with floating white LED and photoelectrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction to value‐added products. His PhD research focused on the development of several solar and visible light active semiconductor materials for water splitting and environmental applications. He has published 25 papers in internationally reputed journals and 4 book chapters.
His research interests are development of advanced functional and light harvesting materials for hydrogen generation, carbon dioxide reduction, solar cells, energy storage devices and environmental applications.
