Chelsea Forum Notes – April 21, 2018 – 10:15am-11:15am, Chelsea District Library

Attendees wanted to discuss the following three topics during today’s forum.

1. Wireless Technology – health effects of 5G

2. Communication between local government and citizens

3. Participation in Chelsea Forum and other ways to get involved

1. Wireless Technology - Report on a presentation given at Dexter Library from an organization called - WeAreTheEvidence.org They report that “Although the public has been assured that wireless technology is safe and that there is no evidence that wireless technology is harmful, the truth is different. The harm of wireless technology radiation is not potential but existing at an epidemic scale.” Discussion was had regarding the differences between 5G and 4G as well as other wireless versus wired technologies. The intent to increase 5G systems to be able to utilize automated vehicles in the future.

c. Sharon Township Broadband Millage referenced – wireless versus wired infrastructure

d. Proposed City and Township boards spend some time exploring this issue and consider a resolution concerning the 5G issue

2. Communication between local government and citizens

Discussion about IHA/ Chelsea School Board situation with IHA offer to purchase land. How did the decision get decided, how do we engage the community to be more involved in issues earlier on in the process.
