Welcome to the website of Chelsea C. Chou. I am a Professor in the Graduate Institute of National Development at National Taiwan University (NTU) and the Director of International Cooperation at the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy (TFD). I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Government at Cornell University. 

My research focuses on state-society relations in authoritarian regimes and social policy-making in China. I have published in China Information, Journal of Asian Public Policy, Journal of Chinese Political Science, and Social Policy & Administration, among others. My broader research fields include Comparative Politics, Authoritarianism, Labor and Health Policies, International Relations, and Chinese Politics.

At NTU, I also serve as the Associate Dean of the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
