Violin
She placed the wooden box on the table. It looked like something a Chicago gang would have carried in the 1920’s or a small coffin. Inside laid the remains of a violin. I could not tell if it was childish tampering or years of neglect that rendered the poor instrument into such a state of disrepair. Still, a strange beauty emanated from it and a haunting reminder of passionate music once played. The violin belonged to my grandfather. It was unearthed in my Aunt’s closet and brought to my mother. Both had early memories of him playing it and then he just stopped. We are not sure if it was the crime committed against the violin or merely a dream dispelled by age. A mystery formed by a lapse in memory. In fact up until the moment I opened that box, I didn’t know he played at all. By the time I came along, his hearing was considered hard and he was an ancient soul to be honored and ignored all in the same breath. He’d go into rants underscoring his opinion with fists banging the table. I would sit there mute and amused half hoping the table would collapse in the midst of his fury. To think that those fists once elegantly held a bow and violin. I told my mother I would try to have it fixed and yet I haven’t. Part of me wants to sit a bit longer with the pieces as they are.
Pentagram Wooden Altar/Table
A first look at one of our Altars, A small cross section slice of real English Elm, the poor tree was hit by bad storms then lightening. We just stripped the bark and sanded then waxed, there are simple legs to the base. Whole table/Altar is made from same wood/tree. We have hand carved a Pentagram/Pentacle on the top of the Altar/Table. This totally bespoke there will never be another like it at this size or shape as we only got one slice of the tree at this size. (we have one other Altar/table coming which is a lot bigger) The cost of this Altar is ?59.99, which includes postage within United Kingdom, Any other country please message me
