The diagram maps the pedestrians moving through the spaces of Government Center. It breaks down the pedestrians into two categories of business people and “casual” people (pedestrians passing due to leisure). “Business” people were defined by shoes, dress shirt, ties, suits, reserved professional dresses, and briefcases. “Casual” people were defined by t-shirts, shorts, jeans, polo shirts, sandals and flip-flops, sneakers, and shopping bags. On Memorial Day there were many casual pedestrians relaxing, moving and interacting with the plaza. On this holiday there were still some business people that had to work and follow a specific and direct path from office building to the T station. The casual people did not have a specific path; they traveled more freely through the plaza.
