I know "Doc" brought many of us into this world and later cared for us.
What a man!
"Doc" Turns 100
Reported by: Amanda Evans/ WCIA 3 News

Tuesday, Jun 10, 2008 @05:33pm CST

PIPER CITY- A small town doctor has brought more lives into the world than the number of people in his town.
. He's won awards and performed one of the area's first cesarean sections on a woman in Ford county. For the people in town they're proud to know him.
His patients are well all grown-up. But just about everyone knows Doctor Charles Branch, better known as "Doc" here in Piper City.
"We moved here in 1940 and he became our doctor," said Piper City local Jack Reynolds.
"I've known him since 1965, he was the only doctor at the time," said local waitress Ruth McMillan.
"Doc" Branch was the small town's doctor for more than 40 years and for many he was the first face they saw as they opened their eyes to the world.
"He's been baby happy, he's delivered a lot of babies," said the mayor's daughter, Susan Massey.
"Well he brought my wife into this world," said Burt Jibb.
Add her to the list, Branch brought more than 3 times the population of his small town into the world. That's more than 25-hundred babies.
"A lot of sleepless nights," said Dr. Branch.
Sleepless nights indeed. His healing hands worked around the clock making house calls when no one else would.
"Just for a small town to have a doctor means so much," said McMillan.
After Doctor Branch retired he decided to take care of life in a different way, moving from babies to blooms. He became an award winning master gardener.
"Doc" Branch says the secret to his 100 years., loving and nurturing all the life around him. And they've been years well spent.
"I've had a wonderful life, wonderful," said Branch.
Doc Branch says he's lived a happy healthy life until the last three years, that's when he found out he had Parkinson's disease. But he seemed sharp as ever and he's looking forward to his birthday party with his family in just a few weeks.
