Spookychee's Translation Guide

This is the story, and he's sticking to it!

Sure, this game is pretty easy to understand, but what's up with those weird squiggles and lines? Spookychee's translation deciphers the code making the game fully understandable.

Spookychee's Translation Guide

Back in January of 2007, I made the following comment in reference to Spookychee's Translation Guide:

"...as far as understanding the story, catching the humor, and understanding the game's hints as to where to go and what to do, this guide is awesome." -Ninten1

Here's what other hardcore fans of the Mother series have to say about Spookychee's Translation guide:

"The game's simple to find out, but without that guide, you won't be able to follow the story." -Gamecubespect

"VERY good guide" -Starmen.Net's Mother 3 section

"When coupled with the music and the graphics the overall experience is very moving. The writing itself was fine -- I performed two monologues from that translation at my college theater and landed a major role with them."  -HeavilyArmedHamster

How to follow the guide:

  • Be sure to have your browser's encoding set on
    Japanese Shift_JIS so you
    can view the Japanese
    characters in the guide.
  • Scroll down line by line as  dialog events in the game transpire.
  • Don't read ahead if you want to figure out what to do on your own.
  • Walkthrough-like cues are written in all caps.
  • When you enter a new area, every NPC's dialog can be found within a box. Take the time to read these as they contain clues and the famous humor of the Mother series.
