NEW: SuperTracker Nutrition Lesson Plans for High School Students

This series of four lesson plans is designed to help students grades 9-12 learn how to build a healthy diet using SuperTracker. Teachers can select from a variety of topics including selecting healthy snacks, finding personal recommendations for what and how much to eat, evaluating food selections, and building healthy meals. Each lesson plan includes learning objectives, detailed instructions, and accompanying resources and handouts.

MyPlate Kids' Place (Ages 6-11)

The Two-Bite Club (Pre-School/Kindergarten)
This educational storybook was developed to introduce MyPlate to young children. Parents or caregivers read the book to children and encourage them to try foods from each food group by eating just two bites, just like the characters in the story. The back of the book contains a MyPlate coloring page, a blank certificate for the Two Bite Club, fun activity pages for kids, and Tips for Growing Healthy Eaters.

Serving Up MyPlate: A Yummy Curriculum (Grades 1-6)
What are healthy food choices? What is a balanced diet? Serving Up MyPlate is a new collection of classroom materials that helps elementary school teachers integrate nutrition education into Math, Science, English Language Arts, and Health. This yummy curriculum introduces the importance of eating from all five food groups using the MyPlate icon and a variety of hands–on activities. Students also learn the importance of physical activity to staying healthy.
 
Schools participating in the Child Nutrition programs may request the free printed Teacher’s Guides, Eat Smart To Play Hard With MyPlate poster and mini-posters, and MyPlate at Home parent materials (in English, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and French).

Nutrition Voyage: The Quest To Be Our Best (Grades 7 and 8)
 
Nutrition Voyage: The Quest To Be Our Best takes 7th and 8th grade classes on an exploratory journey into school wellness. There are three inquiry-driven lessons for each grade, which include:
  • Engaging ways for students to learn about making healthy nutrition and physical activity choices
  • Standards-aligned activities for Math, Science, and English Language Arts
  • Opportunities for students to investigate, participate in a challenge, evaluate, and reflect.
