Professor Ruth Lister, Emeritus Professor of Social Policy, Loughborough


Professor Lister has carried out research in poverty, social security, welfare and children and young people for many years. She is now honorary president of the Child Poverty Action Group and serves as a Labour peer in the House of Lords.

Dr Sally Ruane, lecturer in Health policy, De Montfort University, Leicester

Dr Ruane is deputy director of the Health Policy Research Unit and is actively engaged in research on Health Service Reform. She is co-author of the compass report ‘In Place of Cuts: Tax Reform to Build a Fairer Society’.

Local Speakers, Speakers from local services will give a local perspective.
