Charlie's Extreme CED

Ok, it took me a while to get this posted but I can't ignore the overwhelming requests (all one of them) to post pictures of my system. I run the video through the Runco Scan Converter, effectively doubling the video to 840 lines.

This is my player and line doubler.

HERE IS THE WAY I SOLVED TWO ISSUES.

1. THE SAGGING TOP THAT STOPPED EVERY MOVIE AT 48 MINUTES.

2 IT'S NO GOOD IF yOU CAN'T SEE ALL THE MECANICAL FUN GOING ON

UNDER THE ORIGINAL TOP.

EASY FIX. I JUST SAWED OFF THE TOP AND REPLACED IT WITH A THICK ACRYLIC SHEET. NOW I CAN WATCH IT LOAD, LOOK AT THE SPINNING DISC AND EVEN SEE THE STYLUS ADVANCE GEARS TURN.

The High def screen, masked (there were no wide screen ced'S AFTER ALL). THE MONITOR SITS ON TOP OF THE STEREO CABNET THAT I BUILT TO LOOK SORT OF 30'S. (YEP ... THOSE ARE TUBES BEHIND THE SMALL WINDOW ON TOP OF THE SAE AMP. ALL MY SOUND RUNS THROUGH A LINE AMP WITH TELEFUNKEN 12AX7'S) ... BUT I DIGRESS ..........

I really shouldn't put these screen shots in, they don't look like the real images. You'll have to trust me when I say they look better than s vhs, almost as good as laserdisc. I'M SURE ALL OF YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO GET A DECENT STILL PICTURE OF A SCREEN. Here are TWO SCENES FROM “THUNDERBALL” IN ALL OF their 840 LINES OF DOUBLED GLORY. IT REALLY LOOKS BETTER IN PERSON, THERE ARE NO VISIBLE LINES BECAUSE THERE IS NO BLANKING AND WITH TWICE THE LINES THE PICTURE IS MUCH BRIGHTER

For Video and Music – Only 12 inches of Vinyl will do ....
