libraries and technology

Technology has come to be at the heart of our modern society, however libraries are often seen as resistant to this change. 
In reality, many public libraries are embracing new forms of technology to enhance services and improve internal processes.  Additionally, technology remains an area of need, particularly when it comes  to providing access to those left behind by the digital divide. 
I would like to explore some of the ways in which libraries are currently and can in the future use technology such as Open Source software, Radio Frequency Identification, federated searching, digital bookmobiles, and databases and access.
