The CRW launch vehicle is a boosted dart design which uses a drag induced separation event to separate the unpowered, payload carrying, dart from the powered booster. CRW's rocket is constructed almost entirely out of composite materials and plastics, and uses a relatively small motor compared to recent past rockets. CRW's booster is powered by a quick burning J355 motor. The rocket has two separate recoverable sections with different deployment systems. It is designed to be launched from a 1” by 8’ small rail. Sections are tracked using GPS units.
