1. Our first paper on package shipping via taxi crowdsourcing has been accepted by UIC'14.
2. Our first paper on fusing taxi GPS data and Foursquare check-in data for personalised and traffic-aware trip planning has been accepted by T-ITS.  
3. Our first paper on mining ship trace data for container throughput estimation has been accepted by UbiComp'14.
4. Our paper entitled "From Taxi GPS Traces to Social and Community Dynamics: A Survey" has been accepted by ACM Computing Surveys. 
5. Our paper entitled "B-Planner: Night bus route planning using large-scale taxi GPS traces" has been accepted by PerCom'13 (Full Paper Acceptance rate: ~11%).

Biography

Chao CHEN is currently an Associate Professor at College of Computer Science, Chongqing University. He obtained his Ph.D degree in Informatics from UPMC (Paris 6) and Telecom SudParis, in 2014, supervised by Prof. Daqing ZHANG and Tulin BERBER ATMACA. He received his master degree in Control Science and Control Engineering from Nothwestern Polytechnical University (Xi'an, China) in 2010, supervised by Prof. Quan PAN and Associate Prof. Yongqiang ZHAO. He worked as Research Assistant in BRC (Biometric Research Center), HKPolyU from Nov. 2009 to July 2010, under the supervision of Prof. David ZHANG, and Lei ZHANG.

- Areas: Ubiquitous/Pervasive Computing/Big Data Analytics for Smart Cities
- Problems: human mobility/activity patterns mining
- Applications: night bus routes planning, logical location recognition, anomalous taxi trajectory detection
