I was born on August 5, 1976, in Gollepalem, a small village in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. We moved to Hyderabad in 1977. I received most of my education in Hyderabad. I went to St. Francis de Sales High School, North Lalaguda, and then to Little Flower Junior College, Uppal, Telangana.B.E.I obtained my Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University College of Engineering, Osmania University, Hyderabad in 1999. Ph.D.In July 1999, I joined the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Department of Electrical Communication Engineering (ECE), for M. Sc. (Engg.), but later upgraded to Ph.D. In those days, IISc did not have a direct Ph.D program. My Ph.D. supervisor was Prof. T. V. Sreenivas. I specialized in non-stationary signal modeling, auditory modeling, and speech/audio compression. I earned my Ph.D. degree in 2005.Post Ph.D.During April 2005- March 2006, I was Technology Consultant at M/s. Esqube Communication Solutions Private Limited (www.esqube.com), an IISc startup company, where I developed proprietary audio coding solutions. During April 2006 - July 2009, I worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Biomedical Imaging Group (bigwww.epfl.ch) with Prof. Michael Unser, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (Ecole polytechnique federale de Lausanne or EPFL), Switzerland. Since July 20, 2009, I am Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Science.
