Gobi methi/Cauliflower & Fenugreek leaves

Simple, quick and healthy Indian side dish.

 

Ingredients:

Cauliflower: 1 small

Fresh fenugreek leaves or frozen packet of fresh leaves: fresh small bunch (only leaves)

Onion: 1/2 minced

Ginger: 1 tsp grated

Green chillies: 3 minced

Red chillies powder: 1 tsp , less or more

Cumin: 1 tsp

Oil:  2 tsp

Salt: per ur taste

 

Method: 

Cut into small florets.Soak in salted hot water for few minutes (help to kill worms in the florets)

Take only leaves and rinse in fresh water.

Now, heat a pot with oil , add the cumin, followed by minced onion, green chillies and ginger. Fry until they turn translucent.

Add the cleaned florets and fry for about 8 to 10 minutes , don't use the lid the cauliflower cooks faster it may turn muchy.

Add the salt, red chilli powder and let the masala coat well with the veggie, now add the leaves and let it saute another 7 or 8 minutes . Final adjust with salt and spice and switch off the stove.

Can be served with roti or rice.

 

Tip: When u cut the fenugreek leaves, add some salt and mix it, keep it aside for few minutes . Rinse again before cooking, help remove the bitterness.
