Art For The People...

My name is Chad Stieg.  I am a southern born boy with a love for the West!  Art brought me this far and I am always amazed at what it continues to show me.  I have lived all over this country collecting inspiration from people and the land...the only two constants! I love this life! BUY ART!

CURRENT EVENTS:

______________________________________________________________

***WINTER-SPRING 2013: Winter is quickly winding down as the days get longer, warmer, and more melancholy!  That's a surer sign than any groundhog could ever offer! Last summer was spent hunkering down, and designing/building my most recent series:

"OBJET TROUVE: THE HISTORY OF HISTORY IN THE MAKING; A LOOK AT PALEO-HOME FURNISHINGS, CAVE-INSPIRED ELEGANCE, & THE AUDACITY TO MOVE A MOUNTAIN...ONE BLOCK AT A TIME"

This line was hard earned! Many trips to the mountains...many trips to the desert...many trips to the ER! All worth every minute, every trip, and every drop of blood and sweat!!!
This recent series is, almost entirely, made up of my love for Mankind's carrion...the stuff left behind..the scraps of the lives they once lived through their very own brand of consumerism. I strive to make it 'consumable' once again!

SO...with that, I bring you: Carbondale Council on Arts & Humanities' opening of "OUTSIDE THE BOX: A FRESH LOOK AT HOME"
OPENING RECEPTION ON THURSDAY, MARCH 14 , 2013 FROM 6-8PM IN THE CCAH R2 GALLERY @ the 3RD STREET CENTER IN CARBONDALE. THE SHOW WILL RUN THROUGH APRIL 19, 2013 (but the openings are where the magic happens!)!!! Be there! Support us! We will rule one day, and you'll wish you'd payed more attention! Live well! Support yourselves, then your families, then your love! :)

***SUMMER-FALL 2012: WELL, WELL, WELL...HERE WE ARE ONCE AGAIN AMIDST AN AMAZING "WIND-DOWN" OF THE HOT, HOT HEAT OF SUMMER ON THE GOOD OLD WESTERN SLOPE OF COLORADO! A LOT OF AMAZING OPPORTUNITIES POPPED AND CROPPED UP THIS SEASON, GREAT SHOWS, GREAT DEBUTS, GREAT FESTIVALS! LETS KEEP UP THE VIEWERSHIP SO THIS OLD BOY CAN RETIRE ONE DAY!!!
I HAVE BEEN HARD AT WORK ON THIS SEASONS NEWEST INTEREST: "OBJET TROUVE"! A DYING ART FORM, LONG DISREGARDED AS A LAZY MAN'S ART, IS IN NEED OF A NEW BREATHE OF LIFE! THE THINGS WE FIND THAT HAVE HANGING AROUND FOR YEARS AND YEARS COLLECTING RUST, DUST, MUST AND CRUST, ARE LIKE BURIED DINOSAURS WAITING TO BE UNEARTHED, SHARED, AND REVERED! THIS ART IS DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO EXTINCTION, AS WE PROGRESS INTO A MORE AND MORE TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED SOCIETY...IN SHORT: PLASTICS REPLACE METAL...PLASTIC DOESN'T RUST! SIMPLE AS THAT! KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED FOR THE "PALEO-DESIGN" SERIES OF FUNCTIONAL ART!
THINK: COWBOY MEETS BULLET, BULLET MEETS METAL, METAL MEETS BOY, BOY MEETS ART, BOY THANKS COWBOY! STAY GOOD, ALL!

***
WINTER 2010-2011:  IT SOMETIMES SEEMS LIKE WE DO THINGS FOR THE BENEFIT OF BEING ABLE TO HAVE BENEFITS.  WHILE THAT'S ALL FINE AND GOOD, WE NEED TO REMEMBER THE IMPORTANCE OF DOING WHAT WE LOVE BECAUSE WE LOVE DOING IT! THIS IS WHAT REMOVES ART FROM THE REALM OF 'WORK' FOR ME.  I AM THANKFUL FOR THIS BLESSING AND IN THE WORDS OR A WISE AND BEAUTIFUL FRIEND: "I am blessed and grateful to have a place to clean myself." THANKS FOR BEING THERE, EVERYONE!

    I
T HAS BEEN A MELLOW WINTER AND MUCH CREATIVE RECHARGE HAS BEEN HAPPENING!  LOTS OF GREAT NEW PIECES HAVE COME OUT OF THIS SEASON AND I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO SHARING THEM WITH ALL.       -SINCERELY, CHAD STIEG.ART

***UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2009:  HELLO TO ALL OF MY FRIENDS AND CUSTOMERS! HERE IT IS NEARING FALL AND ALL IS WELL AS I ENJOY THE ALTITUDE AT 8000 FT. IN THE GOOD OLD ROCKY MOUNTAINS.  THAT JOHN DENVER WAS RIGHT! AS WINTER CREEPS IN I CONTEMPLATE THE NEW GOODS THAT WILL BE COMING TO FRUITION. I AM EXCITED TO KEEP ON CREATING AND HAVE A TON OF NEW IDEAS THAT I FEEL WILL BE VERY INTERESTING AND UNIQUE!  KEEP YOUR EYES GLUED TO THIS WEBSITE AND TO THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE ON THE MAILING LIST KEEP CHECKING YOUR JUNK MAIL! I HAVE A FEW THINGS UP MY SLEEVE THAT I AM SURE ALL WILL ENJOY! WITH THAT, THANKS AGAIN TO ALL WHO'VE HELPED ME OUT AND TO THOSE THAT PLAN ON DOING SO IN THE FUTURE. YOUR LOVE OF ART IS WHAT PUTS FOOD ON MY FAMILY'S TABLE AND KEEPS US SMILING A BIG SMILE! I LOVE THIS LIFE! BUY ART AND SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL ECONOMY! BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HELPING TO TURN IT ALL AROUND! SINCERELY, CHAD STIEG.ART
