About the Club

All women are invited to join the CFUW Comox Valley. The purpose of the club:
  1. Promote the education of women
  2. Provide social activities for members that are enjoyable and educational
  3. Stimulate the interest of members in public affairs and afford opportunities for united opinion and action.
The CFUW Comox Valley supports and advances the values of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW/FCFDU), which is committed to:
  • Improving the status of women and girls
  • Promoting quality public education
  • Advancing the status of women, human rights, justice and peace
The CFUW/FCFDU is a national, non-profit, self-funded, non-partisan organization of close to 10,000 women in 122 clubs across Canada. It is the largest of the 79 affiliates of Graduate Women International (GWI) and has special consultative status at the United Nations to promote and advocate for the rights of women and girls.The national CFUW was organized in 1917 and the local club was formed in 1984.

All women are welcome in the club.  Potential members are invited to attend a meeting or two before joining. To join, contact the Membership Chair in person or by email. (comoxvalleycfuw@gmail.com).

Annual membership fee: $85.00
Student fee: $42.50
Membership fees are used to fund local bursaries and to support the CFUW BC Council, the national CFUW, and the international GWI.
