Midwest Airgun Show/June Field Target Results

posted Jun 21, 2017, 10:35 AM by Chad Kentner

Well I need to apologize for the delay in the update. However the airgun show and shoot left me needing to do a little catching up in some other areas of my life.

The show it self was a tremendous success with close to 300 visitors and over 70 tables of airguns for sales. The feedback from everyone who participated was great and vendors are already looking forward to joining us next year (date to be determined). The range on Saturday was also packed with people trying out new airguns from vendors including Air Ordinance, Mr. Hollowpoint and even Airguns of Arizona on Sunday.

The field target match had 21 participants, with competitors in both HFT Spring and PCP, WFTF PCP and Open PCP classes.

If you missed the June event, you will want to make sure that you have July's event on the calendar as it will be another field target match, followed in August by our Airgun Swap meet and fun shoot.

Final results are out of 60 shots:

WFTF PCP:

Tyler Patner - 56
Krsiten Coss - 39
David Hitchcock - 34

Open PCP:

Larry Piercy - 54

Hunter PCP:

August 6th, 2016 Results

posted Aug 9, 2016, 8:17 AM by Chad Kentner

Wow, what a great weekend!

First and foremost the Central Ohio Airgunners would like to thank our sponsors for the donations (see our website for a list of supporters). Many people went home with great prizes and the club was rewarded with much needed funds for targets, and other supplies. We would also like to acknowledge John O. for donating a large portion of the food for the day and his great culinary skills.

The morning started out with a flood of people (45 people were in attendance) coming through the gate just before 9 am and setting up tables to swap and sell. This year there were many deals being made and many new homes were found for both new and vintage Airguns.

As for the fun shoot portion we had several new shooters visiting the club. With several out of state guests from West Virginia and Pennsylvania; as well as from all around Ohio. The range was a smorgasbord of targets to be shared by all; including bells, pans, eggs, paintballs, field targets, sight-in targets and yes even paper targets.

If you are within several hours of our club, it is a yearly airgun event not to be missed.

We have two additional shoots coming up.
Field Target Event (Pyramyd Cup Tune-up Match) September 3rd and our final Fun Shoot of the year October 15th.

We will have a short YouTube video of the event in the near future. It is currently in the editing phase.

Field Target Event - RESULTS

posted Jun 18, 2016, 9:05 PM by Chad Kentner   [ updated Jun 18, 2016, 9:08 PM ]

Central Ohio Airgunners held their first field target event on 6/18/16 and a good time was had by all. We had a total of 23 individuals at the event and 19 of them were competitors. We were pleased to have four shooters from Northern Ohio and another making the trip from South Western, Ohio and who could forget Baker Airguns as well. For the vast majority of the shooters this was the first time participating in a field target competition. It turned out to be a beautiful day with a high temperature in around 87, a light breeze and sunny.

The day consisted of a 45 minute sight in period. For the sight in range, we were able to acquire a nice setup from Ben at Steelplinkers. There is a short video on youtube showing this setup (click the link below). This was of course followed by a shooter’s safety meeting and then all six squads were off to take on the course. The course consisted of 15 lanes; with two targets each, for a total of 60 shots. The Troyer rating on the course was set at 28.

At the conclusion of the event we were all able to share stories, share contact information with new friends, have a few laughs as well as eat some well deserved lunch. During lunch scores were announced and a raffle held with donations from our club supporters.

If you have not made it for a shoot, we would certainly like to invite you to join in the FUN!

Single Action Pistol Challenge - May 7th

posted Apr 14, 2016, 7:37 AM by Chad Kent   [ updated Apr 14, 2016, 8:12 AM by Chad Kentner ]

This challenge does not require you to bring any special equipment. The club will provide a Crosman SA6 for all participants to use.

It will be a timed event with 6 shots and 4 targets. Once you have hit all four targets the timer will stop and you will record the number of shots taken, targets hit and your time to achieve a final score. Participants will have as many opportunities as they would like to participate.

All participants will get one chance for free wen they sign-in for the day.
Cost: $2 per round or $5 for three rounds.
The club will provide the pellets and the CO2 to power the gun.

Prizes: Trust me we got some (Thanks to our club supporters!). We just need to decide what it will be.

Findley Airgun Show!

posted Apr 11, 2016, 2:15 PM by Chad Kentner

We had another great time this past weekend at the Findley "Toys That Shoot" air gun show. A lot of us picked up new air guns and looks like a ton of new targets for our fun shoots. However the best part was that we handed out over 50 flyers for the club's scheduled events and there was a great deal of interest.  Can't wait to see all the new faces come May and throughout the entire summer!
