[An invitation from the City of Edmonton]

Hello there!

We invite you to share your feedback on Central McDougall’s Preliminary Design.

Wednesday, November 7, 2018
5:30 - 8:00 p.m. (Drop-in)
Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Centre

10440 - 108 Avenue NW

Drop by the Central McDougall - Renewing Local Infrastructure Event to advise on the preliminary plans for new infrastructure in your neighbourhood, before construction starts in spring 2019. Preliminary plans will show improvements of:
  • Residential streets
  • Traffic measures
  • Commercial streets
  • Bike infrastructure
  • Parks and green spaces
The preliminary plans were developed based on the feedback received throughout the public engagement process, which started in January 2018, including the recent input we received from the public event and the survey in September 2018. The designs also considered technical constraints and City policies and programs. What will be developed from the preliminary plans are dependent on available funding.

An information session, which will confirm the final construction design for the 2019 - 2020 neighbourhood renewal, will be held in January 2019.

Sewer construction update

posted Oct 12, 2018, 3:05 PM by Scott Rollans   [ updated Oct 12, 2018, 3:17 PM ]

We've all noticed the recent disruption in our neighbourhood, as EPCOR constructs a new deep storm sewer. The project will provide services to new downtown developments, and should ultimately reduce the risk of flooding in our neighbourhood.

EPCOR has distributed an update to review the progress so far, and to explain what we can expect in coming months.

2018 Fall BBQ cancelled

posted Sep 19, 2018, 2:41 PM by Scott Rollans

With heavy hearts, we're cancelling this year's fall BBQ (originally scheduled for Sept 15 and later rescheduled for Sept 23). The forecast for this weekend is little better than last weekend—cold, cloudy, and damp.

Very sorry, everyone—this is the first time in a decade we've been derailed by bad weather. Fingers crossed for next year's BBQ!

BBQ postponed; renewal consultation still on

Because of the unseasonal weather, Central McDougall's fall BBQ has been postponed to Sunday, Sept 23, 2-6 pm.

However, you're still encouraged to come out to the park on Sept 15 for the City of Edmonton's "Building Great Neighbourhoods" display and consultation event. It's your chance to see and discuss some of the many improvements coming to Central McDougall in 2019-2020! Full details below.

Neighbourhood renewal: first glimpse of CMCL 2020

posted Jun 25, 2018, 4:06 PM by Scott Rollans

Central McDougall is slated to undergo major neighbourhood renewal in 2019 and 2020. In preparation, the City of Edmonton has been gathering community input to help shape the construction process. On June 25, the city released its Phase II Public Engagement report. It outlines what the city learned from the consultation sessions, and paints a preliminary picture of the improvements we might expect to see in the next couple of years.
