A reminder that tomorrow (Monday) at the end of practice is the last opportunity to submit your spirit pack orders. The order form is attached.
Tomorrow (Monday) at 6pm is our first team dinner of the season, hosted by the Sagrillo Family at 1552 Northfield Ln. Directions slips will be available after practice. Carpooling to the dinner is encouraged. In addition, the following items are requested from:
Thank you, Sagrillos, for hosting!
Great meet today. Many of you are seeing the benefits of lots of summer training. Others of you are less prepared for racing, but the good news is we have a long season ahead, and now we have a benchmark to work from. I was extremely impressed with everyone's teamwork and positive attitude today- great stuff!
Next week's Time Trial is the next hard effort. It will be 2mi in length, on our home course, and will determine the Varsity, JV, and Open squads for the Home Invite on September 6th.
The Spirit Pack order form is attached to this email. The true, real, no-joke deadline is Monday at the end of practice.
Thank you to those who have already read through and signed our team handbook/policies. That is also attached. Everyone must read and sign before our Home Invite.
See you in the morning!
I have updated all the sign up sheets with information from tonight's parent meeting. All of the sign up sheets are available from the team website under the "Warrior Families- Get Involved" section. You can just type in your name to help out with home invite, team dinners, meet snacks, etc. Thanks to all those who have already signed up! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
The 2014 team handbook/policies are now available on the website as well, at http://www.centaurusxc.org/xc-handbook. Please take a moment to read through it. Please pay particular attention to the required equipment and attendance policy sections. The signature page (available at the same link), indicating that every athlete and a parent has read and understands the polices, is due from everyone before our Home Invitational on Sept 6th.
Lastly, in the name of environmental friendliness and helping out a neighbor, a rideshare/carpooling coordination effort has been suggested. If you regularly need a ride to or from school or practice, or if you regularly drive alone and would like company, fill out the details here to get in touch.
Looking forward to another great season!!
(you are receiving this email because you are signed up on the 2014 Centaurus XC email list)
A quick reminder that this Thursday, 5:30-6:30pm in the student center (fishbowl) is our XC parent meeting. Athletes are welcome as well. This is an opportunity for parents to meet the coaching staff, new parents to meet other veteran parents, and to find out how to get involved with the team! Parents- bring your calendars. There will be sign up sheets to host a team dinner, or to bring food to an event or special practice, or to help at the home invite with concessions or course setup (speaking of which.. does anyone have a large truck [larger than an F150] that can tow a trailer full of metal barricades, with a driver willing to wake up around 4am on the 6th of September?)
Also, one very easy fundraising effort we continually utilize is re-loadable King Soopers cards. 5% of your purchases (even gas!) goes straight to the team, so we can buy bagels and juice and snacks to keep the team fed. Bring $5 cash to the parent meeting, and you'll get a King Soopers card pre-loaded with $5!
Finally, attached you will find info about our first "meet" this Friday at Valmont Bike Park. As you will see, the meet is not the normal XC meet format (with Open, JV, and Varsity races). Instead, it is a head-to-head format. This is new and different, and should be fun! Check out the flyer for details.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Thursday.
One other very important note I forgot to mention- be sure you are registered for Fall Sports!! Registration involves completing a packet of paperwork (parent signatures required), paying the athletic fee, and providing proof of current physical. Most of this is done online, at the Centaurus Athletics Website. Please contact Sue Fischer in the Athletics office (720-561-5369) with any questions. This must be completed before you are able to participate in any official team practice.
Hello Centaurus XC 2014 team!
You are receiving this email because you are signed up for the 2014 Centaurus Cross Country email list. Our first official day of practice is tomorrow, 8:00am, at "The Hill" in front of Centaurus, near the drop off loop. The team website has incorrectly said 3:20pm for a while now, so please help spread the word about the 8:00am time to anyone who may not yet be signed up on the email list. We will practice at 8:00am on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week, and then switch to the 3:20pm time for Thursday, and the remainder of the weekdays of the season. Saturday practices will be at 8:00am, unless otherwise noted.
Since I'm out of town, Coach Moeller and Coach JO will be getting our season officially underway. As always, check out the 2014 Meet Schedule, as well as other events and sign up sheets on the team website and team google calendar. As always, it will be continually updated as new information becomes available.
Looking forward to another great season! Go Warriors!!
Dear past and current CHS Track and XC athletes and families,
(This email is going out to multiple email lists- apologies if you get this more than once. This is the last "blast" to everyone. All future info regarding Ironman volunteering will be communicated via the official email lists, which you can sign up for below)
I'm proud to report that, due to the amazing number of sign ups on the interest forms, we will be working the biggest aid station at the biggest Ironman, on Aug 3rd!! Coach Kaitlin (currently an assistant coach for track) will be the volunteer captain for that event.
As planned, we will also be working the smaller but equally as important Sprint, Peak, and 70.3 events.
The Details (for all events, including the Full Ironman):
To fill out the waiver, go here and scroll down: www.centaurustrack.org/ironman
Please pass on this information to anyone you have recruited, to ensure they will get all the info as the event approaches.
