By GEORGE E. WOLF JR.

Black cemetries are a important part of Harris County,Texas history. For a long time these cemeteries were forgotten and lost to us all. But now there is more interest in saving these wonderful cemeteries where so much history is told in the founders of Freedman's Town and surrounding Harris Co. This web site is decated to those who fought so hard for freedom and respect.

I am a vocational archaeologists(1972), vocational paleontologists(1972) and
I have been a vocational historian and writer of Harris County,Texas since 1984 and Family Genealogy starting in 1985.

Being a native born Houstonian, (1959),Houston Heights, I have seen countless cemeteries disappear over the years.
By listing those cemeteries that are no longer in use or lost forever I can save a little part of Harris County history.

Cemeteries are wonderful places so full of history and art. Some are sad too...... So many need to be saved!!!!
