Hollywood cemetery was founded in 1895. Among well known early citizens buried in Hollywood was Miss Julia Ideson, the city's first librarian.
The cemetery is divided into two parts, "old" and "new" sections. The old section once had a lake with a drive around it, but the lake has not been there since the 1920's.
