San Juan Chamula (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chamula) in Chiapas region, is in the rebel part of Mexio, with over 50,000 inhabitants. They have there own religion, rules and be aware not to take photographics, when they do not wish. Rumors told they lynched tourists already for that! And be aware they have their own village police force!
Should you go there you should get to know the story of the reason of the different coloured crosses. I know, I do not tell. Mexico is travelworth!
Make sure you take the tour with Raul from San Cristobal de las Casas, every day at 09:30 meeting point front of the Cathedral. We went with Raul, he gave as a Spanish guided tour, it was great. Also available in English, as Caesar would take care. But I highly recommend the tour in Spanish!
There is also another tour, which webpage is: http://www.cieloytierratours.com/eng_tours_chamula.html
