Hi!
I'm Célia Moreira, an assistant professor at ISEG - University of Lisbon, and a member of DataLab.
I did my Master's and PhD in Mathematics at the University of Porto (2+4 years), under the supervision of A.A.Davydov (Moscow State University-Russia & IIASA-Austria) and H.Mena-Matos (Univ. Porto). The topic of these theses was Singularity Theory, within Differential Geometry and Topology. Afterwards, I worked for 15 years as a researcher in two different areas: a postdoc in dynamics of complex networks (CMUP, 2010-16), a postdoc in mathematical modelling and applied statistics (CIPsi, 2016-19), and a research contract (FCUP & CMUP, 2019-2025). Throughout most of these research years, I was also involved in teaching, usually curricular units in Linear Algebra, Calculus, Probability, and Statistics. Since then, I have devoted more time to teaching, with positions at Universidade Aberta (Open University, 2025) and at ISEG – University of Lisbon (since 2026).
I have published articles in international peer-reviewed journals, as well as presented communications in international scientific conferences. Besides, I have experience as a reviewer (Mathematical Reviews, AMS) and referee. My research interests are dynamical systems (bifurcation theory and complex networks) and applied statistics.
