March 7th, 2016 | Taking Nature to the Courtroom. Development Projects, Protected Areas and Religious Reform in South Asia

This seminar is the second of a set of three workshops on the project Taking Nature to the Courtroom: Development Projects, Protected Areas and Religious Reform in South Asia, which focuses on how certain issues related to nature and the environment, and which also involve ritual practices or religious notions, are brought before the court and how they take on a legal expression.

April 18th, 2016 | 90 years of Indian Dance in France: Circulation, Interaction, Exchanges

This international workshop was part of the second edition of the ‘Moving Movements’ Festival. As in the previous edition, this year’s workshop offered a selection of some Indian dance styles through performances and classes, directed by prestigious artists and dance masters, all of which greatly enriched the festival.

May 6th, 2016 | Art and Cinema Industries in India: Norms, Workers and Territories

The international workshop was organized on May 6th at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, New Delhi and brought together 16 experts in policy-making, statistics, law, and cultural industries along with professionals from the art and film industries.

May 6-8th, 2016 | The Annual Pakistan Workshop

The Annual Pakistan Workshop has run ever since 1986, bringing together mainly anthropologists and sociologists, but also people from many other disciplines who work on Pakistan, the Pakistani diaspora and Islam in South Asia.

May 9th, 2016 | Annual CEIAS PhD student Workshop

Every year, the CEIAS PhD-student representatives organize a day-long workshop to provide PhD students from the Center with an opportunity to present their research and receive feedback from more experienced scholars.
