October 2-4, 2014 : 8th European PhD workshop on South Asia Studies in Edinburgh
The Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS), University of Edinburgh, hosted the 8th European PhD workshop on South Asia Studies from October 2-4, 2014. As every year the Centre d'Études de l'Inde et de l'Asie du Sud (CEIAS) has sent two PhD student, Florence Nowak and Clémence Jullien, as well as one senior scholar, Tiziana Leucci.
November 5-7, 2014 : 1st Ethnography Meeting at the EHESS (High School Studies in Social Science)
This year, the EHESS organized its first Rencontre Annuelle d’Ethnographie which will now be a regular event held by this institution, serving to foster collaboration between members.
December 8-12, 2014 : Winter School in Pondicherry | Methodological Approaches in Social Sciences
In December 2013, Christophe Jalil Nordman (economist, IRD), Thanuja Mummidi (anthropologist, Pondicherry University) and myself, Remy Delage (geographer, CNRS) formulated the idea of designing a multi-year program of intensive and multidisciplinary training workshops addressing theoretical and methodological issues in social science research.

The "Hindus and Others in South Asia and Overseas" research program, coordinated by Mathieu Claveyrolas & Pierre-Yves Trouillet organized, jointly with Delon Madavan and the Centre d’Études et de Recherche sur l’Inde, l’Asie du Sud et sa Diaspora (CERIAS) of the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM, Montréal), a conference entitled Hindus and Others in Sri Lanka and in the Diaspora, it took place on February 17th, 2015.
