Competition Process

The competition deadline has been extended to midnight on 31 March 2015, GMT time.

Participants should follow the following process to enter the competition:

  1. Please let us know if you intend to take part in the competition so that we can add you to our mailing list.

  2. Run your algorithm on the benchmark functions outlined in the following technical report: M. Helbig and A.P. Engelbrecht. Benchmark Functions for CEC 2015 Special Session and Competition on Dynamic Multi-objective Optimization, Technical Report, University of Pretoria, South Africa, 2015.

  3. For each function, and for each iteration, record the found POF and POS. They should be recorded in the format of this document. An example file is available here. Take note that each iteration will have 30 POFs or 30 POSs. The 30 POFs or 30 POSs are for the 30 runs. Each POF or POF starts with "[[" and ends with "]]". In the example file iterations 1 and 2 have only 2 POFs. If you don't use threads, then the easiest will be to create 30 POF and 30 POS files for the 30 runs (so one for each run) and then using a script to combine the 30 POF files into one file and the 30 POS files into one file.

  4. Send your POF and POS data files via email. If you do not receive a confirmation email about your entry, contact one of the competition organizers. If your files are too large to send via email, make use of either Dropbox, Google drive or a ftp site and send the link to one of the competition organizers.

After we have received all the data from the participants, the winner of the competition will be calculated based on the performance measures and the analysis of the data as outlined in the technical report mentioned in item 2. The performance measure values will be calculated by the competition organizers.

It should be noted that participants of the competition may also submit a paper to the associated special session, using their data submitted for this competition. However, the paper should include all information required to be reviewed independently for the special session.
