I am presently working as Associate Professor in the department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Larbi Tebessi University, Tebessa, Algeria. I received my PhD in 2014 from University of Badji-Mokhtar Annaba, Annaba, Algeria and specialize in document analysis and recognition. My research interests include image processing and pattern recognition with applications to writer recognition, gender detection, word spouting, digit recognition, script identification and signature verification on disguised signatures and skilled forgeries. I have been regularly participating in the top conferences in areas of document analysis and handwriting recognition. I have also participated in several scientific competitions organized in conjunction with ICDAR and ICFHR conferences. Among these competitions, five of my submitted systems were ranked first. I am the organizer of the ICDAR2015 Multi-script Writer Identification and Gender Classification Competition using "QUWI" Database as well as the ICFHR2016 Competition on Multi-script Writer Demographics Classification Using "QUWI" Database. I am also the founder of the Mediterranean Conference on Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence. In addition, I have collaborated as a member on several research projects. I am also a reviewer for several international conference and journals in the field of pattern recognition, and document analysis and recognition.
