Registration Is Open!

The conference is free for member districts (Issaquah, Riverview, Snoqualmie Valley, Tahoma). 
For non-member districts and substitutes, the fee is $50 (includes up to 10 clock hours). Registration for substitutes and non-member districts opens June 15.

Conference sessions are being scheduled now. As soon as we have everything slotted, we'll post a link to the conference schedule.

George Couros, author of The Innovator's Mindset: Empower Learning, Unleash Talent, and Lead a Culture of Creativity, is a leading educator in the area of innovative leadership, teaching and learning. He has worked with all levels of school, from K-12 as a teacher and technology facilitator and as a school and district administrator. He is a sought after speaker on the topic of innovative student learning and engagement and has worked with schools and organizations around the globe.  You can get a taste of George's passion and insight by checking out his blog, The Principal of Change or participate in the CCS's Innovator's Mindset Online Book Study later this year .

Chris Reykdal--August 16
Superintendent of Public Instruction
As a high school history teacher, local school board member, state legislator, and budget and policy executive for our state's community and technical college system, Chris Reykdal has dedicated his entire career to public education. In his role as the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Chris serves on the State Board of Education, Workforce Training and Education Board, and the State Board of Natural Resources. Chris also leads a team at OSPI that is working hard to open multiple pathways to high school graduation including expanded technical education opportunities.

Patrick Mulick

Patrick is a National Board Certified Teacher, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and a certified speaker, trainer, and coach with the John Maxwell Team. While spending seven years educating students with disabilities, from pre-school to high school, Patrick developed a particular love for working with students with Autism and behavioral challenges. Today he works as an educational consultant and as the Autism Coordinator of the Auburn School District in Washington State. As a nationally recognized speaker, Patrick has committed his work to lighting it up for all those who work with special needs learners through a hybrid of instruction and inspiration. His resources and strategies have helped make the complex simple, equipping teachers, administrators, therapists, paraeducators, and bus drivers alike.

Dr. LaWonda Smith

Dr. Smith’s career spans that of an elementary teacher, building administrator of an ethnically and economically diverse high-need school in the Road Map region, Title I and LAP Program Manager at the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, Seattle University adjunct professor, Executive Director of Race to the Top and ELA Program. LaWonda holds a Leadership for Learning doctorate from the University of Washington, a Master of Leadership degree from UW Tacoma, and Master of Teaching and Liberal Arts degrees from Oregon State University. Additionally, Dr. Smith’s doctoral work, “Improving Disproportionality of Students of Color in Highly Capable Programs” is published in the November 2015, Washington Educational Research Association Journal and in the April 2016, University of Washington Educational Law and Policy Society Journal.Of particular interest to Dr. Smith is providing a true sense of the word “ALL” as it relates to our education system.
