Stem Cell Internship


Paid training in a local research laboratory

The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine has funded a $2.7 million grant supporting full time paid internships for City College students in Bay Area stem cell research laboratories.

The application can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.  The application due date was extended to 12:00 PM, Friday, March 25, 2016.  The application can be filled out on a computer but a hard copy must be submitted.

Become an intern

Students who complete the Stem Cell Certificate program are eligible to apply for the Stem Cell Internship Program.  The application process is competitive with 10 interns chosen for each 9-month cycle.

Duration of each internship: 9 months, full time



The intern must also be enrolled as a full time CCSF student, and take the required Stem Cell internship course concurrently (BTEC 21D Fall, 21E Spring).

To be eligible to apply, you must have successfully completed your Stem Cell Technology certificate courses by the start of the internship.

Hosting an intern

The outstanding intern candidates have completed ~120 hours of cell culture lab. They have additional training in PCR, Western blotting and ELISA.
