This webpage is for a satellite meeting of CCS2019.
Date: 3 October 2019, Thursday
Venue: LHN-TR+06, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
Overview
Macroscopic complex phenomena typically emerge from bottom-up interaction between a number of microscopic constituents. In this sense, social systems have been studied in terms of self-organization and complexity because diverse individual agents interact to lead to population-level phenomena such as traffic jams, market crashes, and rumor spreading. In our satellite meeting, we discuss various topics regarding evolving many-body systems with a focus on the role of the similarity and the diversity obtained in these systems. We invite the top scientists in the emerging field of social physics and computational social science, aiming at facilitating the communication and collaboration among participants.
